ROCHESTER TOWNSHIP BOARD - MEETING MINUTES

Board Minutes

Members Present: Gary Donovan, Brenda Dicken, Jeff Orth, Lenny Laures and Gary Swenson.

Members Absent: Douglas Butler and Brian Mueller

Guests: Bruce Borgerding and Deputy Val Coe

Jeff Orth called the meeting to order at 7PM

Minutes – Gary Donovan made a motion to approve the January 14, 2010 minutes. Brenda Dicken seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Deputy Report – Deputy Val Coe reported

MN Pollution Control Audit -.

Land Use Plan – Brenda Dicken updated the board on the latest revision of the county land use plan.

Drifens Conditional Use Plan – Gary Donovan updated us on current status of the facility, present owners and Conditional Use Permit. Gary Donovan made a motion to adopt a resolution following verification of a complaint that a condition has been violated to conduct a review of the permit at a public hearing.

Brenda Dicken seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Update on Swimming Pool Issue - Brenda Dicken reported the County Board will discuss this on March 9th.

Employee Appreciation Dinner – Dinner was reviewed and declared a success.

Deputy Val Coe - Deputy Coe reported on the activities in the township during the month. It has been very quiet since our last meeting.

Board of Audit - Gary Donovan and Jeff Orth conducted an audit of the books and found them to be in order.

Annual Meeting - Brenda Dicken worked on a letter for the meeting and it was reviewed and approved to be mailed out. Minnesota will be hosting the National Assn. Meeting in Washington, D.C. in 2011.

Olmsted County Township Assn. Meeting - Brenda reported on the meeting. Primary election date will change to an earlier date. Association Dinner will be March 13th at the Eyota American Legion. Minnesota will be hosting the National Assn. Meeting in Washington, D.C. in 2011.

Fire Department Meeting - Brenda Dicken and Lenny Laures attended and our cost for 2010 is $174,779.

Zoning Ordinance Meeting - Brenda Dicken reported on township ordinances and that we need to hold public hearings on updates.

Census Mapping - Brenda Dicken reviewed the census maps with the other board members.

TREASURER's REPORT

Treasure’s report – Brenda Dicken made a motion to approve the treasure’s report. Gary Donovan seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Rochester Township Claims – Brenda Dicken made a motion to approve the claims #940 – 948 for $32,216.60. Gary Donovan seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

JPB Claims – Gary Donovan made a motion to approve the JPB claims # 1672 – 1701 for $36,180.26. Brenda Dicken seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Maintenance Supervisor report – Lenny Laures said they bought all the salt under contract. Mike Reiland got his finger injured on a truck tailgate.

TCPA – Brenda Dicken reported to the board that TCPA lost $8,868.04 last month and she updated the board on other issues discussed at the TCPA meeting.

Carpet - Brenda Dicken said we had a letter from Hillers on carpet price under the government contract. We are in the fourth year on a five year state contract. She will check and see what it would cost to replace.

Gary Donovan made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Brenda Dicken seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Reorganization, Budget & Audit meeting

Jeff Orth called the meeting to order at 9:50 P.M.

Members Present: Gary Donovan, Brenda Dicken, Jeff Orth, Lenny Laures and Gary Swenson.

Members Absent: Douglas Butler and Brian Mueller,

Reviewed Reorganization sheet, left salaries of board members the same as 2009, and set proposed budget at $710,311 for 2011.

Closed reorganization and budget meeting.
