ROCHESTER TOWNSHIP BOARD - MEETING MINUTES

November 13, 2008

Members Present: Gary Donovan, Douglas Butler, Brenda Dicken, Brian Mueller, Jeff Orth, Lenny Laures and Gary Swenson. Members Absent:

Guests: Deputy Valerie Cole, Steve Conley, Steve Holtegaard

Brian Mueller called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM

Brenda Dicken approved the October 9, 2008 minutes as amended. Douglas Butler seconded the minutes; they were voted on and approved.

Jeff Orth made a motion to approve the minutes of the special meeting October 23, 2008 as amended. Douglas Butler seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Steve Connelly discussed his access concern to his property for Boulder Creek sub-division. He was told by Steve Holtegaard he could not access his property from the Boulder Creek Sub Division. Steve Holtegaard said he blocks the street because of the vandalism. This was discussed and Steve Conely has the right to access his property through Boulder Creek.

CPDC Update – Gary Donovan gave an update on the grading permit and the cost share agreement. Peter Tiede, township attorney, is looking at the cost share agreement.

The vacation of Old Valley Road is in the pipeline.

Salt Sand Shed – Lenny reported that they are working on it.

SWPPP Update - Brenda Dicken updated the board on current month’s activity.

Smith Schafer Audit – Board requested me to contact Smith Schafer and see if they could hold the cost for the audit constant for the next three years.

New Business –

Meadow Lakes Liquor License - Jeff Orth made a motion that we approve the resolution for the Meadow Lakes Liquor License. Gary Donovan seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Annual recognition party - The annual recognition party will be discussed at the JPB meeting.

Reports:

Deputy Valerie Coe – Deputy Coe reported there were 45 calls for service in Rochester Township last month. Several mailboxes have been hit (smashed) in the township. The parking ordinance was also discussed.

Treasure’s Report -

Gary Donovan made a motion to approve the Treasure’s Report.

Jeff Orth seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Gary Donovan made a motion to approve the Treasure’s Report.

Jeff Orth seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

RT Claims – Brenda Dicken made a motion to approve Rochester Township claims # 692 – 715 for $15,727.60. Douglas Butler seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

JPB Claims – Jeff Orth made a motion to approve the JPB claims # 1237 – 1260 for $12,037.28. Gary Donovan seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.

Road Maintenance – Lenny had Brian look at the rear end on the 04 Mack, there were metal filings in the rear end. The new truck is here. They are working on getting the back cleaned up so we can mix salt/sand.

Board of Adjustment – No Meeting.

P & Z Commission – No Meeting.

TCPA – Brenda Dicken updated the board on the TCPA meeting.

Brenda Dicken reported on the burnt out building site on 40th Street. The board suggested that Brenda contact the owner and see if we can’t get it cleaned up.

JPB Meeting, Tuesday November 18, 2008 – Will meet in the garage on Tuesday night.

Board of Appeal and equalization training report – Someone from our board needs to attend.

Meeting adjourned – Gary Donovan made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 9:10 pm, Doug Butler seconded the motion; it was voted on and passed.
